CPR & First Aid Training
The unit has finally been able to secure a CPR and first aid instructor to come train the Young Marines. The course will be taught over a two (2) afternoon period - March 20 and April 17. In order to earn the CPR and Advanced First Aid ribbons, the YMs will have to attend BOTH class sessions. Attendance will be kept.
There will be a small $10 cost in order to pay the instructor. This is a deeply discounted price as most CPR and first aid classes run $35+. FAs can be and are encouraged to be used.
NOTE: The CPR ribbon is required for promotion to corporal and the Advanced First Aid ribbon is required for promotion to sergeant. This will be the only opportunity in 2010 that this training will be provided at unit level. If you miss all or part of this training, you miss the opportunity to earn these two ribbons. Your only recourse would be to participate in training on an individual basis "out in town".
